“Hoila” from the Öboluckna Bed & Breakfast at the entrance to the Tauferer Ahrntal. With a lot of heart and passion, I, your host Claudia, had the pleasure of reopening the charismatic Oberlucknerhof in Mühlen in Taufers, while still keeping the charm of the old farmhouse. A dream came true, and now I get to introduce you to Öboluckna – a simple, honest vacation spot with character. Sport enthusiasts, nature lovers, and those seeking peace and quietness will all feel at home here.

Once you enter, you’ll find yourself in the “Labe” (Pustertal dialect for corridor). You’ll quickly sense the historic charm of the house – what have these thick walls witnessed over the more than 150 years they’ve been standing here? From here, I’ll bring you to your room – one of just 11, all renovated and freshly made up with a private bathroom – spread across two floors.

In addition to the rooms, at Öboluckna, you’ll also find a fully equipped holiday apartment for up to 4 people – perfect for those who prefer some more space. Located on the ground floor with its own separate entrance, you can retreat here or if you feel like it, connect with other guests in the Sports Lounge by the stove.

Slow down, relax, feel connected to nature, and enjoy the chance to socialize. I am an enthusiastic mountaineer, and after several years of working in top hotels in the Ahrntal Valley, I felt a desire for something more natural. Simplicity, clarity, and tranquility. For me, the community kitchen and the Sports Lounge are the soul of the house. After an adventurous day in the Tauferer Mountains, you can either chill out in your room or hang out in the Sports Lounge by the stove and chat with other guests.

The Ahrntal Valley is like the Holy Grail for trail runners, cyclists, and hikers. Less crowded than the Dolomites, and with a total of 52 peaks above 3,000 meters, the area offers an incredibly diverse challenge for your calves. Choose a tour from our corner in the Sports Lounge, and I’ll be happy to give you valuable tips – the kind of only a local can offer, someone who has run every trail in the area several times.

Mühlen in Taufers is a village with around 1,500 inhabitants, part of the municipality of Sand in Taufers. Nestled in a relatively wide valley (for South Tyrol), surrounded by mountains and forests, Öboluckna Bed & Breakfast is located in the village center of Mühlen, away from the main road. Within walking distance, you’ll find restaurants, pizzerias, cafes, a bakery, and a bus stop. The bus runs every 15 minutes, taking you up and down the valley. Pretty neat, right?
